Migos' Iconic Rain-Soaked Rolling Stone Photoshoot: Cam Kirk's Creative Inspiration from the Beatles

Cam Kirk, known for his editorial photography and video direction, had the opportunity to shoot the Migos for Rolling Stone in 2017. Having worked with the Migos previously as a video director, Cam Kirk was excited to capture the essence of the group in a still frame.

Despite facing scheduling conflicts due to the Falcons' NFC championship game, the Migos chose professionalism and attended the Rolling Stone photoshoot. Although a studio was available, the photoshoot had to take place outdoors, presenting a unique challenge as the weather was not cooperating.

Driving around in a Honda with a friend, Cam Kirk brainstormed ways to keep their audience engaged during the rainy conditions. Drawing inspiration from a famous photo of the Beatles holding an umbrella, the idea for the Migos' "Culture" album cover was born.

Armed with umbrellas, the friends ventured to a goat farm for the photoshoot. The iconic rain-soaked image of the Migos, with raindrops on the camera lens, became a testament to Cam Kirk's creativity and resourcefulness.

Cam Kirk's ability to adapt to the elements and find inspiration from legendary artists like the Beatles showcases his prowess as a photographer. The memorable Rolling Stone photoshoot of the Migos serves as a reminder of the impact creative problem-solving can have on art.
